Tour part- I (Ballooning)
Transfer to the balloon launch site from your hotel at early morning before the sun has risen. It takes about maximum 30 minutes depending on your hotel location. Enjoy pre-flight tea while the balloon is being prepared the flight by the crews after you have arrived to the location where one of our watchfully selected launch sites. After a safety briefing by the pilot of the flight, you will be invited in to the basket. The balloon holds 4-8 passengers in partitions of 2 people with the pilot in the middle, designed to deliver continuous views of the Mandalay city below. Lifting off you will fly over the city and its sites for 45-60 minutes. The pilot will fly at different heights allowing you to have views from high above together with falling down low to wave to the approachable locals. Upon landing you will be served a celebratory glass of sparkling wine and the pilot presented with a certificate of flight. Then you will be dropped back at the certain meeting point (local Tea shop) where your tour guide will wait for the additional day tour.
Tour part- II - Mandalay Cultural Heritage tour
After early balloon ride experience, explore the royal city of Mandalay by car, mainly cultural heritage sites near the foot of Mandalay hill. Mandalay is the last Royal Capital of Myanmar Kings, an ancient center for culture and Buddhist religion. You will visit this sightseeing tour with our knowledgeable guide and you may be advised what is Myanmar culture, how is the local peoples’ life, what is their handicrafts and exploring cultural heritage area in Mandalay.
Our tour guide is awaiting at a certain meeting point to offer you local taste breakfast at the native tea shop and then continue for sightseeing. We will start our day trip with a visit to the most important religious site of Mahamuni pagoda. On the passageway of the entrance you can see many souvenir shops especially for local Buddhist. Many local Buddhist are coming every day and taking meditation, offering something to Buddha image and so on. So you can learn why Buddhist people come and what they do in Pagoda etc. Visit the area of marble workshops where many kinds of statues like Buddha images, Elephants, lions, Chinese religious statues and even include Indian religious statues are crafted daily. Then you will get more experience at gold leaf making factory how the skillful craftsmen are working. After that continue explore to local market where you may observe the trade of local community in several products including vegetable. lunch will be at the Myanmar Traditional food restaurant normally.
In the afternoon, we will visit Northern part of the city. Visit Monastery to understand about Monastic education in Myanmar and make a small charity or some interactive activities with the children if it is school day. Then continue to Royal palace, the last palace of king Hsipaw to see the small museum and royal replica. Then proceed to Golden monastery which was the old palace of the King Mindone, father of the last King Hsipaw. Then to Kuthodaw pagoda famous as “The World’s biggest Book” and which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. Continue the trip to Mandalay hill for sunset on the top of the hill and you can have panoramic views over the royal city, Mandalay.
