After 3 years of culinary training in France, Patrick Rosalie worked at various restaurants and hotels in France. Then he moved to London to work at the star restaurants of the Roux brothers.
In 1977 he settled in the Netherlands, where he held various positions at restaurants and hotels and finally he joined ESA ESTEC Space Agency in Noordwijk, Netherlands, where he stayed for 32 years. As the kitchen manager, he was responsible for 3 restaurants and 2000 meals per day. He managed the kitchen team and all the planning concerning the food production. He was even involved in the Melissa project, which was the preparation of food for future missions to Mars.
After holding several management positions in tourism, Berry ter Horst founded his own company: PANGEA Travel, a tour operator for custom made trips to Asia and Africa. Products were sold through their website. After more than 15 years of successful operation, he sold his company in 2018. Berry is now a volunteer for PUM senior experts and a volunteer at a hospice, where people spend the last phase of their lives.
Berry visited Myanmar in 2009 for the first time. Most recently he was in Myanmar in February 2020 for a PUM-mission.
Harald Kniss,
Hospitality Management Consultant
Established HSLI – hospitality management in 1995. Resident in Rotterdam, the Netherlands the home base .He has had an extensive career in general hotel management across several continents.
He developed strategies, suggestions and solutions leading and coaching hotel management and owners to reach their set goals. The expertise covers the entire commercial functioning of properties, including Sales, Marketing, Communications, Revenue and Distribution, Operation Analysis. He is driven for the successful launching and integration of new Hotels and Resorts in today’s challenging marketplace.
Joining PUM voluntarily in 2003, he successfully accomplished missions in South East Asia, Africa, and Latin Americas. The portfolio includes properties such as the Inle Princess Resort, Nyaung Shwe, Myanmar; The Mantrini Chiang Rai, Thailand; Hotel Association of Siem Reap, Cambodia as well as hotels throughout Indonesia and the Philippines.
Inspired by diversity of global cultures he is driving the integration of individual owned hotels and resorts to compete with industry giants, by introducing dynamic new ways of working including intelligent, innovative technology, building a commercial culture, and nurturing impactful relationships around the world.
