This is 4 days 3 nights trip from Mandalay to Hsipaw by passing through the famous Gokehteik Viaduct. You will have experience with a train ride with local people who usually go to Hsipaw / Lashio by train for their business, social, family, and other purposes. Day 1 : Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin

Meal: Nil

This journey starts by picking up at your hotel in Mandalay and drive to PyinOoLwin. Visit the hill station city where many colonial buildings located. Our tour guide will explain about the PyinOoLwin and its historical background. PyinOoLwin is once the capital of British Burma, 67 km far away from Mandalay. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery, friendly people, amazing experience, and even good food.  Its picturesque views are breath-taking, and the smile on its colorful people are heartbeat-skipping.

Day 2 : Pyin Oo Lwin – Gokehteik Viaduct – Hsipaw

Meal: (B )

This morning you will be transferred to the rail station and take a train ride to Gokehteik Viaduct for about 4 hrs. When you arrive at Naung Paine station, the car is waiting for you to continue to Hsipaw. You will get Hsipaw in the evening and take a rest at your hotel. The bridge itself is in a beautiful location and exciting which is a hundred-year-old and built by the British. The train is slow and bumpy, but it will be a crazy trip through the countryside with an opportunity to see the locals and talk to local and other travelers. The main attraction is to see the stunning scenery and amazing the old Gokehteik Viaduct. You will enjoy the beautiful and breath-taking view crossing the Gokteik Viaduct by the local train.

Day 3 : Hsipaw

Meal: (B)

This morning you will visit for a half-day boat trip to the original place of the Dothawaddy river is an enticing option. Come back and afternoon visit highlights of Hsipaw. While you are on a boat trip can explore charming Shan village with traditional houses, typical Shan style Monastery by walking approx; 45 mins crossing pineapple plantations and fields and the beautiful river confluence. The Palace of the last Shan Prince is the first interesting place for the traveler who comes to Hsipaw and also a chance to explore a little Bagan (where many small ancient stupas existed), Nat Shrine and local market. Even you can view the sunset from the top of the Hill in the evening.

Day 4 : Hsipaw – Mandalay

Meal: (B)

This morning after checking out of your hotel, you will explore the local market and drive back to Mandalay. You can make the stops and explore the other villages along the way back to Mandalay if the time is allowed. You will arrive back to Mandalay from an exciting trip.

What is the cancellation policy for this tour?

All cancellations made by travelers will be charged as follows:

  • Cancellation more than 45 days before the travel start date: there are no charges.
  • Between 30– 45 days before the travel start date: 25% of the tour cost.
  • Less than 30 days before the travel start date (or) No-show: 100% of the tour cost.
  • The Government Tax (5%) is non-refundable.
Can I book this tour at the last minute?

What do I need to bring with me to do this tour?

We suggest you carry slipper and something to protect from the sun and the dust. Shorts or sleeveless tops and shoes are not allowed to enter the place of Pagodas and Religious area.

I am a solo traveler, can I book this tour?

We operate this tour privately as we, MUL considered to the privacy of the travelers and not sharing with other travelers. Our mentioned price is based on 2 passengers for a booking, but the solo traveler can still book this tour requesting for the solo price by email (office@myanmarupperland.com).

Is the vegetarian option available for this tour?

What is the best season to do this tour?

We have three seasons in Myanmar, October to February is Winter (cold) season with average temperatures 20-24 C, March to May is Summer (hot) season with average temperatures 30-35 C) and  June to September is the Monsoon (rainy) season, with high rainfall and average temperatures 25-30 C.

We offer this tour all year round and the best season to do this tour is Winter season (Oct – Feb).
